Fantastic drawings of flowers and watercolors from Limzi
The artist, better known under the pseudonym Limzi (), with the help of watercolor and fresh flowers creates incredibly lively and delicate works of art. With her light hand, the usual watercolor drawing becomes a colorful installation, where exquisite female images are complemented by flower petals and buds that turn into lush long dresses, ballet tutus and frill skirts.
Born a talented girl in Malaysia, at the age of 16 she moved to Singapore, where in a few years she became a graduate of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. After graduation, Limzi worked as a drawing teacher. When the working day ended, she hurried home to translate her creative ideas into reality. There was no time left for the artist to draw large paintings, so she had to be content with expressing her inspiration in creating small drawings decorated with various unusual elements, including flowers. The creative process gave her tremendous pleasure, and the fruits of her labors aroused great interest among the audience. Today Lim devotes his time to his beloved work, creating more and more beautiful pictures.
The idea of creating the last and, perhaps, the most beautiful series of photo illustrations - watercolor drawings with the addition of real flowers - came to the artist when she was thinking about the gift for her grandmother. Lim attached several rose petals to a bookmark, making them dresses for a painted girl. Then began the flower story, over which the talented craftswoman continues to work actively.
The artist Lim Ji Wei is sure that you can find art not only in expensive galleries.
Limzie draws inspiration from various sources - nature, the world of art, cultural events and the lives of ordinary people. So one of the works was created after the Oscars in 2014 - with the help of floral art, she portrayed the Kenyan actress Lupita Nyongo, who appeared at the ceremony in a blue dress from Prada. Another film is dedicated to the main character of the recently released film Maleficent, which was played by Angelina Jolie.
The work of the Malaysian artist turns out to be so lively and light that a feeling of summer freshness arises, and thanks to photographs that, according to Limzi, like capsules, stop time, her creations will live forever.
