How to get rid of the fungus on the tile forever!
Well, when the apartment is warm and cozy, it disposes to rest and comfortable living. An uninvited guest - a fungus can spoil such an idyll. Very often, fungal lesions are observed between the tiled joints of the bathroom and in those places where the humidity is constantly elevated. Other parts of the apartment are no less prone to fungi, especially for those “secluded” places where there are all conditions. Corner apartments are a lot of inconvenience, because the corner of the house, unprotected from external environmental factors, is always cold and damp, and result, mold fungi. Living with such “neighbors” is extremely dangerous, so it’s worth once and for all to show this single-celled place. Why is a fungus dangerous? At first glance, dark group colonies represent only an aesthetic inconvenience, making them blush to their guests. But this is only half the trouble, the main danger is fungal spores that can travel freely in the air, which all residents of the apartment breathe.Fungal spores can cause such health problems, as: • asthma attacks, as well as diseases of the upper respiratory tract; • allergic reactions in the form of skin rashes and irritations; • deterioration in general health; • reduction of immunity. Especially young children who are infected with fungus Oguta a lifetime to get chronic diseases Methods of combating fungus Science and Technology that not only invented to combat the fungus:. chemical solutions, special grouting, disinfectant detergents. But I will say from personal experience that all these drugs have a lot of shortcomings: 1. High cost - a good grout is at the price of the tile itself, so you should pay a considerable amount of money for fighting the fungus. 2. Detergents (anti fungal) do not have a long duration, and a couple of weeks after their application, the pattern repeats the same, forcing you to spend more time on the purchase of such a product. 3.Chemical disinfection, carried out by experts, makes for a long time to leave their home, which also causes inconvenience. Plus, this service is expensive and not long-term. Enough to grow a fungus! Having read a lot of literature, and having studied what I'm dealing with, I had an excellent idea to try to destroy the fungus myself. Since there is not much money for this procedure, I will tell you about the most economical and long-term method of combating the fungus. The main goal of my work is not only to destroy the fungus, but also to prevent its reappearance on the tile and seams between it. the whole process will need a few things: • lime is damp (it costs a penny, you can buy it at any hardware store); • any powder for washing; • glass container (in my case, a regular 500 ml can); • rubber gloves; • gauze respirator; • old toothbrush; • thin a brush for drawing (it is better to take the hardest). The first stage of the work - This is the removal of the fungus. To do this, take 2 tablespoons of powder, pour hot water (250 ml), stir well and let stand 5 minutes.
The second stage is drying. After cleaning, the tiles and seams should dry well. To do this, it is best to open the window or turn on the hood. Two hours of ventilation will be enough for complete drying. The third stage is grouting. Many times having used in my practice all kinds of grout like Ceresite and its analogs, I was overcome by the chagrin that had already come on the second week after the process of sealing itself. The costly component fell off the intended location, and the history of the fungus was repeated more than once. Learning from the literature that the fungus does not live in an alkaline medium, I decided to try to wipe the seams with the usual hydrated lime, and the result exceeded all my expectations. To do this, dilute the lime in the ratio of 1: 1 with water, let it stand for 10 minutes, and using a usual clerical brush, apply the solution to the seams. After that, let it dry well outdoors by opening window or transom. After the tile dries, it is necessary to remove the remains of lime on the ceramic surface, which is not difficult to do with a soft cloth and citric acid diluted in water. The result is magnificent, the seams are white and beautiful, but the biggest advantage is that they do not wet and do not contribute to the formation of the fungus. Even in the bathroom, where the whole family bathes every day, the seams remain white and without a fungus for a long time. Thanks to this simple method, it is enough to completely clean the joints between the tile with a cleaning solution and rub it with lime and fungus once a year! Cheap and angry, and most importantly very effective!
