What does a french breakfast consist of?

To start the day pleasantly and successfully, it is important to have breakfast properly. And it's not so much in the menu, but in pleasant rituals and unhurriedness. Breakfast is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the company of native people next to you in the kitchen, drinking invigorating tea or aromatic coffee. Food at the beginning of the day should be tasty, nutritious and always unhurried, in order to feel the full taste of the prepared dishes.

But in the modern world, not many have the opportunity to devote enough time to such preparations, usually all we have time to do is to have a sandwich and have a cup of your favorite drink. By the way, the French have breakfast about the same, but it gives them incredible pleasure. Let's learn!

Little, but elegant

The French know a lot about food, giving the world a lot of original recipes and talented chefs. Each part of the country has its own gastronomic preferences, but what this people unites is breakfast.The present morning menu of a resident of France consists of several simple products:

  • pastries: baguette, croissant, bun with butter;
  • jam: strawberry, apricot, sometimes cherry;
  • Orange juice;
  • black coffee.

An expanded menu option may include a boiled egg, less often an omelet or a fried egg. The French often allow themselves a bite to eat on their way to work, but there are those who prepare their own morning delicacies. And if there is no problem with juice or coffee, then the recipe for croissants is worth writing.

The recipe of traditional croissants was brought to France by the wife of King Marie-Antoinette, since that time they have become almost national pride. Prepare them exclusively from puff pastry, this is the whole secret of their lightness and delicate taste. What is the recipe? Prepare:

  • oil - 300 g;
  • flour - 0.5 kg;
  • milk - 200 ml;
  • yeast - 50 g;
  • eggs - pc;
  • salt - ¼ tsp;
  • Vanillin - 1 bag.

Milk needs a little warm up and put in it a third part of the butter, stir until dissolved. Add yeast, eggs, vanillin, salt to this mixture. Stir and gradually add flour, knead the dough and put it in a warm place for 1-2 hours.

After that, it must be divided equally. On one part put the finely chopped butter, cover with the second half and roll out well. Cut triangular pieces, put jam filling on them and roll them into rolls.

Baked croissants will be at a temperature of 180 degrees for about 20 minutes.

Double pleasure

But besides coffee and croissants in many French cafes and restaurants you can offer to supplement the morning diet with a very tasty dessert, called klafuty. Those who want to cook a real breakfast of the French at home are not to be intimidated. Behind such an unusual name, in fact, hides only a kind of casserole-cake, for the preparation of which it is not necessary to be a famous chef.

Take for a test:

  • flour - 100 g;
  • eggs - 2 pieces;
  • milk - 120 g;
  • sugar - 100 g

The filling consists of:

  • cherries - about 0.5 kg;
  • Sugar - 1-3 tbsp. l (depending on the degree of sweetness of the berries);
  • butter - 30 g

The characteristic of klafuti is a special liquid dough, which allows the cherries to be distributed over the entire height of the pudding.

Sugar and eggs should be carefully combined, whipping strongly.Add sifted flour and warm milk in small portions. At the same stage, put vanilla. Using a mixer, beat until smooth.

Grease the baking pan with butter and place the cherries, sprinkle with sugar. You can add a little cinnamon. Pour out the dough so that it evenly covers the berries. Leave to bake for 30 minutes at 180 degrees. Such a tasty addition will give you not only a good mood, but also a charge of energy.

The original French breakfast is a very easy and simple way to start the morning without overloading your body with extra calories. Start the day with a good mood, and you must always obey all the peaks.
